The Occurence At Owl Creek Bridge
It was a great short story. You think he will get to go home to his family and see his children. you read how he walks and walks through everything only to find out that he's dead. It literally crushed me.

Before the green sea struck the black rocks,
I was.
Before the blue earth rang like a bell,
I was.
I breathed before breath.
I am beneath and above
and through you,
the sound of a soundless gong.
I was, I will be
I am nothing at all.
Nothing. At all.
I am nothing, and the shore on which i break
is all.
~Old Chant. The Rigi
So far in thte book Kat has been living with her mother's people in the mountains. She learned to do what they do and be her own person. 2 years have gone by and she has never once stopped thiking about Nall.
